CORRAL
Volunteer Information
Their Volunteer Orientation Event is called Volunteer 101. Anyone who wants to become a volunteer at CORRAL has to attend one of these events. Volunteer 101 is a hybrid event (virtual and in-person options) held on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30am. Attendees will get a tour of our Kildaire Farm Campus, take a walk down memory lane to learn how CORRAL got started, and experience a volunteer orientation presentation, that includes CORRAL's mission, vision, and volunteer opportunities.
About
CORRAL is a faith-motivated nonprofit that equips adolescent girls in high-risk situations through a long-term, holistic program of equine therapy and education to prepare each girl and her community with skills, resources, and opportunities so that she can gain access to a bright future. Their vision is ending the cycle to intergenerational trauma and systemic marginalization in our community. They believe that anyone who has been broken can be made whole again and that horses can reach the heart of an at-risk girl in a way that others in their lives often cannot. CORRAL collaborates with local, referral community partners who identify their at-risk girls whom they pair with rescued horses in our 12-week Join the Herd program. Ideally, their Join the Herd girls matriculate into their long-term program, the Riding Academy, where they see real, transformational life change. The Riding Academy incorporates academic support, individualized equine-assisted psychotherapy, family counseling, mentorship, vocational and life skills training, college and career preparation, and community support. CORRAL understands that layers of trauma stemming from cycles of intergenerational trauma result in negative individual and community outcomes. They seek to address more systemic healing through a comprehensive approach, rather than just treating the symptoms of this trauma.

Additionally, they try and keep minor's information out of our database, so please make sure anyone registering for Volunteer 101 is 18 or older.
