As the school year draws to an end, everybody is excited for what Summer 2021 has in store! It’s getting warmer outside, workloads have lightened, and people are eager to live this summer to the fullest after over a year in quarantine. At Triangle Cares, we believe that there is a way to make your summer the best one yet: by volunteering! Spending some time volunteering this summer will bring about immeasurable benefits and provide you with a soul-fulfilling activity to look forward to in the next couple of months. Below, we’ve compiled a list of all of the reasons why you should add volunteering to your summer itinerary!
  1. Volunteering connects you with the community: There’s no better way to connect with your community than through volunteering! Over the summer, volunteering is a great way to make new friends, build relationships, and expand your social network. At Triangle Cares, we know that friendships built through volunteering are strong, supportive, and long-lasting!
  2. Volunteering can strengthen family relationships: Want a great way to spend time with your family? Consider volunteering with them! Volunteering is a great way to bring families together and form strong bonds through selfless deeds and activities. If your family doesn’t have any plans for the summer, sign up for some fun, family-friendly volunteer opportunities.
  3. Volunteering is good for your soul: For those looking to improve the state of their mind and body this summer, volunteering is the way to go! Because volunteering is for a good cause, it consequently reduces negative emotions and stress and helps an individual to have more self-esteem and more reinforced positive thinking. Volunteering also imparts a sense of pride on people, as it is a selfless and virtuous cause.
  4. Volunteering can teach you important skills and lessons: Though many don’t realize this, volunteering is a great learning experience that anyone can discover. From different volunteering opportunities, you can learn communications skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and even marketing skills.
Do we have you convinced? If so, check out our website for volunteer opportunities, or look around your community for some great ways to give back! That being said, have a great summer everyone!
